Pro League, Round 10

Al-Nassr NAS

NEOM

Cristiano Ronaldo 45+6′ (Pen) Joao Felix 61′

Joao Felix scored the only goal as Al Nassr edged past NEOM 1-0, with Cristiano Ronaldo missing a first-half penalty.

The Portuguese midfielder struck from outside the box in the 61st minute to settle a closely contested match, although NEOM came within inches of equalising shortly afterwards.

The visitors started brightly, with Mohannad Abu Taha firing narrowly wide from distance before Khalil Al Absi headed off target following a counter-attack.

Said Benrahma then tested Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento, while Sadio Mane and Ronaldo both missed opportunities at the other end.

Felix forced Marcin Bulka into a save after 31 minutes, before Ronaldo headed over from Nawaf Bu Washl’s cross.

Al Nassr were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead in first-half stoppage time when Felix was fouled inside the penalty area by Mohammed Al Dossary.

Following a VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty, but Ronaldo dragged his effort wide of the left post.

The hosts continued to create chances after the break, with Ronaldo firing over from close range before Samu Costa and Inigo Martinez missed headers.

The breakthrough finally arrived just after the hour mark when Angelo set up Felix, who struck a right-footed effort from outside the area into the net.

NEOM almost responded six minutes later when former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette met Giorgos Masouras’ cross, only to see his header strike the right post.

Al-Nassr NEOM

Ronaldo had an opportunity to double Al Nassr’s advantage in the 74th minute but directed his shot narrowly wide.

Benrahma tried his luck from distance late on, although NEOM were unable to find an equaliser.
