Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMore than 290 people were killed when an Air India plane bound for London with 242 people on board crashed shortly after taking off from the western Indian city of Ahmedabad on Thursday, authorities said, in the world's worst aviation disaster in a decade. The aircraft had departed for London’s Gatwick Airport before it crashed into a medical college hostel during lunch hour. At least one passenger, 38-year-old British-Indian man Ramesh Viswashkumar is known to have survived, police said. Viswashkumar told Indian media that he heard a loud noise shortly after take-off, and used the plane’s emergency door to escape. He said that his brother Ajay was seated in a different row on the plane. All passengers except Ramesh are presumed dead.
