At least 270 bodies have been recovered after a London-bound Air India plane crashed into a medical college hostel in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad this week, a hospital official told reporters on Saturday. India’s government is urgently inspecting all Boeing 787s, the aviation minister said on Saturday, adding that the authorities were investigating all possible causes. Authorities report that Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who was piloting the flight, sent a distress call to air traffic control less a minute after it took off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was travelling with 242 people on board. Only one person survived. Indian Journalist Rajesh Joshi gives Global News the latest on the situation, including the story of one lone survivor — A British citizen travelling with his brother, who tragically died in the crash.
