Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) on Thursday reported a 148 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹1,323 crore for the September quarter of FY27, supported by strong growth in its transmission and energy solutions businesses.

AESL that operates across power transmission, electricity distribution, smart metering and energy solutions saw its revenue from operations rise 53 percent to ₹10,075 crore during the quarter. The transmission business reported a 52 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue to ₹3,599 crore, while revenue from distribution grew two per cent to ₹3,181 crore. Revenue from the smart meter business more than doubled to ₹384 crore. The energy solutions platform reported revenue of ₹2,197 crore, nearly 11 times the year-ago level.

The company’s distribution business serves consumers in Mumbai and Mundra, while its energy solutions platform provides power to commercial and industrial customers and includes trading activities. The company had renamed its erstwhile trading segment as the “Energy Solutions Platform” to reflect its expanded focus on the broader energy solutions market and the integration of its offerings.

AESL CEO Kandarp Patel said the company had expanded its transmission project pipeline to around ₹87,000 crore after winning the Vizag and Satara assets. “We are well-positioned to convert this massive project pipeline into long-term stakeholder value,” he said. Patel added that the company’s Mumbai distribution business grew 11% in units sold during the quarter, while its smart metering platform’s cumulative installations reached nearly 15 million. The 2.5 GW round-the-clock power supply contract with MSEDCL further strengthened AESL’s energy supply portfolio.

On the operational front, AESL’s transmission network stood at 29,739 circuit kilometres at the end of the September quarter, with average system availability of 99.8%. Its smart metering business had installed 14.8 million meters cumulatively by the end of the first half of FY27, with an order book of 24.6 million meters.

The company’s transmission project pipeline stood at around ₹87,000 crore, while the near-term transmission tendering opportunity was estimated at ₹1.4 lakh crore. Its smart metering order book represents a potential revenue opportunity of ₹29,519 crore.
