The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will present the ‘Institutional Performance Award for State Police’ to the Andhra Pradesh police for exhibiting good performance in passport verification for the year 2025-26.

In a letter addressed to Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta on Thursday, the MEA officials asked the DGP to attend the Passport Seva Divas and receive the award. Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar will present the award during the Passport Seva Divas, which will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan, MEA, New Delhi, on June 19.

Andhra Pradesh police has been adjudged as one of the best performing police in passport verification, the MEA officials said.
