Ryanair has issued an update after flights were dramatically halted and surrounded by fire crews at an airport yesterday.
Firefighters were seen on the tarmac at Manchester Airport on Thursday evening following an incident involving Ryanair flight RK558 Dublin to Manchester, which landed at Terminal 3 just after 6pm. The airport suspended operations while emergency crews worked at the scene.
An eyewitness reported that no flights landed or departed for around 30 minutes. It is believed that smoke was also seen coming from the plane, reports Manchester Evening News.

MEN)In a statement issued this morning, Ryanair said a "minor tech issue" had affected the plane. The aircraft was inspected after passengers disembarked.
A spokesperson said: "Flight RK558 from Dublin to Manchester (March 19) experienced a minor tech issue upon landing. Passengers and crew disembarked normally, and the aircraft was towed back to stand to be inspected by Ryanair engineers."
A spokesman for Manchester Airport confirmed there had been an incident involving a Ryanair aircraft.
They said there had been an issue during loading that caused a fluid leak. Fire engines attended to make sure the plane was safe before it was taken to a stand.
